UAE Petrochemical Giant Hit by Aerial Strike, 6M+ Tons Output Suddenly Halted

Borouge has shut its Ruwais petrochemical complex after an aerial attack on April 5. Fire was contained with no casualties, but operations are offline. The site houses three ethane crackers producing key plastics raw materials, with ~3.6 million tons/year of base chemicals and over 6 million tons/year of polyethylene and polypropylene capacity now disrupted.
