Fire at Pachpadra Refinery Days Before Modi’s Visit leads to postponed inaugration

A major fire broke out Monday afternoon at the HPCL Rajasthan Refinery (HRRL) in Pachpadra, just 24 hours before its scheduled inauguration. The blaze originated near the Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) around 2:00 PM, reportedly following an exchanger explosion. While 35 fire tenders contained the fire with no casualties, the Ministry of Petroleum has postponed PM Modi’s April 21 visit. An investigation is underway to assess damage at the ₹79,450 crore complex.
